Charleston may be known for its natural beauty, world-class restaurants, shopping, and romantic appeal, but what people fall in love with is its overall charm. I cannot say enough good things about Charleston. It is filled with kind people, beautiful buildings, and amazing food - what's not to like? Charleston is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway - only an hour and 20 flight from NYC. If you haven't been, I would recommend moving this one up to the top of your list.

The Dewberry Hotel: I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. This was one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed at. The decor, the service, the amenities, the cleanliness - all a 10/10. The vacation starts as soon as you arrive, upon arrival they are offering hot towels and fresh berry tea. The rooms are plenty spacious and stocked with everything you could need. The location is absolutely PERFECT, walkable to the downtown area - and if it's not walkable they have a Volvo service that will drop you off.

The Emeline Hotel: This boutique hotel offers great decor, great on-site restaurant, and an amazing location! I did not stay here but I went here for drinks and the lobby was stunning.

Poogans Porch: This adorable restaurant is a perfect spot for a classic southern breakfast. Their front porch seating is actually picturesque. I had the Chicken and Waffles and was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved it - perfect blend of savory and sweet.

82 Queen: Definitely request to sit outside here - their back patio is so adorable. The menu here is a twist on classic southern food. Perfect for brunch or lunch! I would recommend trying the fried tomatoes here.

Obstinate Daughter: About 20 minutes outside of Charleston on Sullivan's Island. The restaurant is quite small so be sure to make a reservation! Everything we had here was delicious - definitely recommend the Ricotta Gnocchi and the Brussel Sprout Starter. Beach vibes all around...

Citrus Club: The highest rooftop in Charleston sits at the Dewberry Hotel. This bar has a ton of great cocktail options and an adorable atmosphere. FYI they don’t take reservations and it is first come first serve

5Church: Also known as Church and Union - with plenty of bar seating. This bar is a converted church and has such a great story and a ton of history.

Frannie and the Fox: Located at the Emeline hotel. This is a great spot for midday snacks and cocktails. The back patio is so adorable with the brick fireplace.

Cypress Gardens: If you are a fan of the Notebook - this is where the boat scene was filmed. Photos don’t do this palace justice! About 45 minutes outside of Charleston - a great change of pace if you are looking to take a majestic boat ride.

Rainbow Row: Sits in the French Quarter section of downtown Charleston. A great Instagram opportunity here!

King Street Shopping: High end retailers with a cute twist.
